But the first series saw Zoe Kravitz take up the role of Catwoman in The Batman 2022.
Set in Gotham, The Batman 2022 movie sees Catwoman Selina Kyle embark on an adventure to track down her lost friend. Catwoman settles to work under the notorious Penguin at his Iceberg Lounge to have a reliable lead in locating her friend. However, Catwoman would later meet some resistance when she tries to unlock the burglar aspect of her life. While attempting to rob the late Mayor Don Mitchell Jr’s mansion, Batman frustrates the efforts of his frequent enemy, Catwoman. But they would later become allies when Riddler, a serial killer, hatches a plan to wreak havoc on the Wayne family. Catwoman eventually becomes a love interest for Batman in the movie in a twist of fate.
When it hit the news that Zoë Kravitz would be playing the role of Catwoman in the Batman 2022 movie, many people voiced their opinions. Interestingly, many of these perspectives are conflicting, as viewers look forward to Warner Bros portraying Catwoman in a manner that suits their narrative. But over the years, the character of Catwoman has not been static. Every actress who has played the role of Catwoman has brought a different light to this comics’ character.
Halle Berry, a celebrity and former Catwoman actress who starred in the 2004 Batman movie, supports Kravitz by encouraging the latter to stick to her idea of what Catwoman should represent.
